As we head into the latter days of Lent, we pause to specifically focus on the suffering, death, and resurrection of our Savior Jesus, by which he conquered sin, death, and the devil's power for us. We have eternal life because he sacrificed himself for us, suffering the punishment of hell that we all deserved. Join us for some or all of the following worship services over the coming days:
- Saturday, April 8, 6pm / Sunday, April 9, 10:30am [Palm Sunday] - We celebrate Jesus' triumphant ride into Jersualem to face his death on this weekend's worship. Worship on Sunday morning includes a special song sung by the children of Gloria Dei Lutheran School and Sunday School.
- Thursday, April 13, 7pm [Maundy/Holy Thursday] - Our Savior gave his disciples his very body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. On this special evening service, we focus specially on that gift of the Lord's Supper and the forgiveness that God has promised and delivered.
- Friday, April 14, 7pm [Good Friday] - Jesus died the death we should have died. His sacrifice completed the payment for sin. He cried from the cross, "It is finished!" We know that our forgiveness is certain and completed.
- Sunday, April 16, 10:30am [Easter Sunday] - Jesus did not stay dead, but three days after his death rose from the grave. His resurrection is the assurance of our eternal life with him. On this joyous day we celebrate his triumph which becomes our triumph through his free gift of faith. Join us ahead of worship for a potluck Easter Breakfast at 9am, an Easter Egg Hunt for the children at 10am. [No Saturday evening worship, Adult Bible Class, Sunday School, or Catechism Class this weekend.]
