The congregation underwent a number of significant projects in the early 1990's. An extensive project to refurbish the sanctuary took place during March and April of 1990. The congregation purchased the new Wisconsin Synod hymnal, Christian Worship, in April 1993. In that same year a new digital Allen organ was purchased for use in the congregation's Divine Services. The organ was dedicated as part of the church's 30th anniversary celebration that year.

After nearly 30 years of service to Gloria Dei congregation, Pastor Geiger accepted a call to serve as the development director of Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown, South Dakota. His final Sunday serving the congregation took place on June 3, 2001.
