Directions to Gloria Dei

Gloria Dei is tucked away in a beautiful, wooded lot in western Belmont with a wonderful view out to the San Francisco Bay and beyond. It's an ideal place for meditation and reflection on the Word of God proclaimed in our church and taught in our school, but it comes at a small price: we can be difficult to find initially. We hope these instructions will help.  Once you find us, we hope you'll be impressed with the beautiful views, but we hope you'll also be even more impressed by the loving God whose gospel message of forgiveness in Jesus we proclaim each week!

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
2600 Ralston Avenue, Belmont, CA 94002

Our back entrance which is arguably easier to get to, can be found on most GPS devices and mapping applications by searching for: 2619 Belmont Canyon Road, Belmont, CA 94002

From Highway 101 (traveling West on Ralston Avenue): Drive west into Belmont on Ralston Avenue.  Drive under the Caltrain overpass.  Continue straight on Ralston at the stoplights at El Camino Real, at Sixth Avenue, at Alameda de las Pulgas (Ralston will begin to go up a hill after Alameda), and at Cipriani/Continentals.  Be sure to be in the right-hand lane.  Go straight at the next light at Davis Drive.  Our entrance will be 300 feet after Davis Drive on the right. Turn into our entrance, which is the old estate driveway. The driveway makes a 90-degree turn, and then turns to the left and goes down a short, steep hill in front of the parsonage to our main parking lot.

From Interstate 280 and Highway 92 (traveling East on Ralston Avenue):  From 92, take the Ralston Avenue exit and turn left (this is the very first exit after getting on CA-92 from I-280).  Continue straight on Ralston through the stoplights at Christian Drive and at Hallmark Drive.  Be sure to be in the left-hand lane.  Turn left at the next light at Belmont Canyon Road Drive.  After a short, steep hill, immediately turn right to continue on Belmont Canyon Road (going straight will put you on Hillcrest Drive).  Follow the street as it winds through the neighborhood about three-tenths of a mile.  The Belmont Canyon Road entrance into our parking lot will appear on your right. If you miss the turn for Belmont Canyon Road off of Ralston Avenue, you can continue on Ralston Avenue to Cipriani Boulevard, make a U-Turn, and come in via the Ralston Avenue entrance described above.
